Senior Boys MVP
Gordie Koerber (South)
Gordie Koerber netted a hat trick, scoring two of the South’s three goals in the second half, to help fend off a North comeback while garnering MVP honors and securing a 12-11 victory. The North trailed 9-5 at halftime, outscoring their opponent 6-3 in the second half, but could not overcome a six-goal second quarter by the South. South goalie Luke Aaron made a game-clinching save with two seconds remaining on a shot from James Pannell to earn the second consecutive and third overall win in the series. Jake Froccaro led the North winning 12-of-16 faceoffs with eight groundballs and scoring two goals in the second half.
Senior Girls MVP
Taylor Cummings (South)
McDonogh teammates Corinne Etchison and Taylor Cummings, the game’s MVP, scored an event record eight points each as the South soundly defeated the North for only the second time in the series, 25-13, in what proved to be a record-setting day. Tied at 6-6 in the first half, the South scored seven consecutive goals in three minutes en route to rewriting the record book for goals in a game. The South also set the record for assists in a game with 12, while Etchison set the individual record with five. Sammy Jo Tracy led the North with two goals and was one of 15 players to register at least a point, including 11 different goal scorers.
